Roing

The base for exploring Mishmi Hills
Roing is a picturesque town in Lower Dibang Valley by the Dibang river and serves as a headquarters. At the bank of Deopani, you will find a well-maintained garden and orchid house. There is an orange orchard against the beautiful landscape on the way from Roing to Bhismknagar.
You can take a walk among the fruit-bearing trees. There is Nehru Van Udyan, a well-maintained garden. There is the Baily Bridge on the Deopani River; by crossing it, you can go to the tribal villages of the Idu Mishmi community. Cheta and Mayu are two small Idu villages in Roing.
The study of places and names can be an excellent exercise to know any particular area and its people. Roing is an Adi name that means 'source of cold water. After the earthquake of 1950, this place was selected and named Roing.
Roing is the base to explore the Mishmi hill and Mayodia Pass known for its rare and near-threatened birdlife which includes Mishmi Wren-Babbler and Sclater's Monal.
