The Cloud Valley
Bomdila, 109 km away from Bhalukpong and situated at an altitude of 2500 meters, is the headquarters of the West Kameng District. Major Ralengnao established this town in the year of 1953. He had been the first District Officer of this town. In 1962 21st November, during the Indo-China war, this city was ruined by a Chinese Soldier.
The entire Kameng Valley looks beautiful full of snow and floating cloud. It has a typical Alpine climate. The Kameng valley is stretched over in front of you. You can see Kangto and Gorichen peaks, one of the highest peaks in the State. Some of the snow-clad peaks will arrest your breath.
Visiting Bomdila in summer is a fantastic experience as you may experience steel-blue clouds. You will feel the clouds loving brush on your body. You will experience rains and the sun simultaneously as if nature plays hide and seek throughout the day.
You can walk along the trails on the luxurious slopes and soak in the quiet beauty. Adventure tour takes special meaning in the hills around, with many routes of several difficulty levels set out for pleasure. Bomdila is the home for tribes like Monpa, Sherdukpen, Aka/ Hurosso, Miji (Sajalong) and Bagun (Khawas).
