This week-long tour takes you to relatively newer destinations in Sikkim. Not frequented by mass tourists, these areas can still maintain their originality and allow you to experience an authentic rural Sikkimese culture and environment. Rich with vibrant forests, an old monastery, terraced agricultural land, waterfalls and small villages dotted the picturesque valley give you a desired refreshing break. Dzongu, a village homestay destination in north Sikkim, has a lot to offer. This is a place for understanding the unique culture of the Lepcha Tribe. Walking and birding options in the Kanchenjunga National Park, jungle trek to the historic Tholung Monastery, traditional fishing and ethnic food and much more. After a fascinating experience, you stay in Darjeeling with a conformable hotel and explore the charming town.

Today we have a full day to explore the villages in Dzongu – mostly by walk. Visit Lepcha family households and meet the locals to understand their original traditions and beliefs, which they have been preserving for ages. You can talk to the people and know their stories, history and rituals. We will also take you to the forest trails to observe the rich birdlife of Dzongu Reserve. Again, you can go to the wild stream to catch fish and have it traditionally cooked in a locally arranged picnic lunch by the river.
