Introduction || Hiking between two countries over a high mountain ridge forming the natural international boundary between Nepal and India with fascinating views of the world's highest peaks, including Mt Everest and Kanchenjunga, is the signature of Singalila Ridge Trek in Sikkim. Far in the Western Sikkim frontier on a lofty mountain range, The Singalila Ridge originating from Singalila National Park in Darjeeling expands northwards to the Great Kanchenjunga massif. During the trek, you will be greeted with a stunning mountain view panoramic and up-close, which is a rare phenomenon in this part of the Himalayas. Apart from offering the best mountain views, the trek takes you to an enchanting land of beautiful alpine lakes dotted the landscape with a high plateau, glaciers and alpine forests teeming with rare Himalayan wildlife. The Sikkim Singalila Ridge Trek will initiate from Uttarey – a small village in the western corner of Sikkim close to the Nepal border, where we will spend a night before the start of the trek. We will end this trek at Yuksom Village via Dzongri and Tshoka, coming down through the Kanchenjunga National Park. We will mostly hike on the ridge between 3700 and 4200 meters across the international border several times, and stay in tents in some lovely spots with a great view all around. This trek route is less frequented than other popular hikes and remains free from the crowd until we reach Dzongri. The trek is suitable for hikers with experience in high-altitude trekking on a mountain above 4000 meters.
