Introduction || This tour takes you to North Sikkim's highland - dominated by high mountain cliff, verdant rhododendron valley, natural hot-springs, perennial snowfields and elevated plateaus across the Trans-Himalayan region. Staying at Lachen and Lachung – two small villages at 2800 meters with a handful Tibeto-Bhutia communities, you will explore higher niches of the Himalayas near the Indo-Tibet Border – Yumthang, Yumesamdong – the vibrant rhododendron valley and lush green yak pastures. You will also visit a stunning glacial lake – Gurudongmar Lake at 5500 meters – one of the world's highest. In Gangtok, you will have exposure to the capital town of Sikkim with a monastery visit. You will send the final days in Darjeeling. Take a nostalgic Steam Train ride on a UNESCO Heritage Narrow-gauge Rail. Also, explore Tea Gardens and old Monastery; Enjoy exotic shopping options in the oldest curio shops.
(Being marked as a sensitive zone on the Indo Tibet border, the areas can be visited with a special permit. For non-Indian passport holders, a few spots on this route are not allowed to visit)
