Introduction || This fascinating birding tour brings you to the wilderness of the Great Kanchenjunga Biosphere Reserve in North Sikkim. This tour advances through vibrant forests ranging from Broadleaved Evergreen Forest to Moist Temperate Forest, Sub-alpine Rhododendron Forest to Alpine Meadow & Scrubland, teeming with critically endangered Himalayan mammal and bird lives. The list includes Grandala, Blood Pheasant, Tibetan Snow Cock, Great Rose Finch, Scarlet Finch, Hume's Ground Pecker and many more. From Gangtok – Sikkim's capital, we take you to Dzongu Reserve – a once-forbidden land and a Lepcha Territory. Continuing further, we will reach Lachen, and travel up to 5000 metres above the vegetation zone, marked by barren land of glaciers, snowfields, rocky cliffs, icefalls, moraines and glacial lakes. In these remote, rugged, high-altitude terrains of North Sikkim, you will witness incredible life forms of birds and mammals – not available elsewhere other than the Trans-Himalayan zone.
Best Season || October to December & March to May
