Introduction || Sikkim's natural splendours can be seen in the higher ridges on the East, North and Western frontiers that border Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal. All the places on the high-altitude international frontlines have limited access for travellers, particularly for the non-Indians, due to sensitive border issues, mainly with China. This 2-week-long rigorous cycling in the rugged and less explored terrains is perfect for those who want to encounter Sikkim's unseen natural beauty, which is unmatched and unparalleled. In these two weeks, you will cover Eastern and Norther frontiers reaching up to 5500 meters. Starting from Aritar in East Sikkim, you bike through the Pangolakha Sanctuary on the Bhutan and Tibetan border and reach Gangtok. From here, you continue further North with stunning views of snow mountain ranges, alpine lakes, plateaus, nomadic villages, rhododendron valleys, yak pastures, and sub-alpine forests, leading finally to the trans-Himalayan cold deserts beyond Thangu. In some of the locations during the journey, the overnight stays will be rudimentary, and the climate is harsh. But it can be a lifetime and a dream-come-true achievement for the hard-core bikers who want to test their adrenals.
